Sun,moon, earth and mathematics .
by atomant injust thought id let you all in on some info i found on northeasttruth.com.
that magical moment where the moon blocks out the sun!
but only just enough to perfectly cover the suns disc, whilst still allowing us to see the corona of light and other electromagnetic forces radiating from it.. this only happens because the moon diameter is exactly 1/400th the size of the suns and is positioned at exactly 1/400th of the distance between earth and the sun!so, when we see it from the surface of earth, we are in the only place this can ever be seen, at the only time it could ever happen.

Welcome,
Your story highlights the worst of the WT: blood and shunning of family members
I am curious. What's happened to your sister, your mom and your other brother since your breakdown?

I got something even better, but it points in the same direction. You be the judge.
A broken clock is right twice a day, even if you use accuracy to the 1 billionth of a second. Isn't that incredible?
Two is the base of the binary system, which is indispensable for any digital system. Two is the number of humans that is required to produce life in a natural environment, "2" is required for human life to exist. Also, in mitosis a cell subdivides in two (not three or four or five). Also we have pairs of chromosomes, not triads. Also the day is divided in two stages, day and night. Also it takes two to tango. The miracle of the number two should not be ignored. It's proof that we are special, that we are the center of the attention of Jehovah and Jesus (here's "2" again: two deities, the letter "J" twice). Coincidence? Hell no. Now I am a believer in the divine powers of "2"

Why are the atheists on this site so hateful?
by HopeEverLasting inall us creationists try to do is offer true evidence that the one and only god is out there watching and looking down on us.
we present that certain scientists know the truth about god and that he is everything that we see from trees, life, weather, the air we breath, and even the most simple molecules.
but of course you atheists reject it because it is your nature to not be humble and see god because you want to rule your own life.

I used to like religion and religious people until I found the high levels of dishonesty that pervade religion and religious people. I don't hate, I just have a much lower level of toleration for pious B.S.
All us creationists try to do is offer true evidence
See what I mean

Today I learned - I'm incapable of having a relationship
by Garrett inhello my dear friends,.
while this post may not be entirely witness related, i figured i'd write out my thoughts here as a form of release and reflection.. recently, a lot has changed in my life.
i'm away from home for the first time in a long while training to get certified in a field i'm not even sure i want to work in anymore.

My big problem as a teenager and as an adult is that I saw women only as sexual partners/girfriends, never as friends. So I never had female friends. That's half the population that I dismissed; big mistake.
Garret, if she is not interested in you as a future sexual partner, then take her as a friend. No losses. This way you won't get as nervous, and you will allow the relationship to develop smoothly in any direction it is meant to go: friend, girlfriend, wife or nothing.
EDIT: I guess Garret is gone. I just noticed this thread is a year old

Obedience At Its Blindest
by Nevuela injust a little something my "anointed" roommate posted on facebook a few months ago, along with replies from her fellow jws.
it was chilling to read, so i took a screenshot and saved it for future reference.
please feel free to share your own stories of blind obedience within the org.

You can't criticize an anointed without divine retribution. Your screenshot has been banned by the higher powers.

Can an atheist date jw?
by concernCitizen inhey everyone!.
first of all, i'm not a jw, in fact i'm an atheist, or if you really want to be technical about it i'm probably something like an agnostic atheist or something.. but, my girlfriend is a jw, she seems very rational about it though, it seems to me that she believes in a lot of it but not exactly all, for instance she does understands and believes in the scientific age of the earth and evolution.. when we started dating almost a year ago she made it clear she as religious person.
i never saw that as a problem, it's not like i'm trying to convert her or she's trying to convert me.

I have been a non believer all my life and married a JW 22 years ago. She is still in the organization and I am very much against it. We have a happy family where both have had a say. She planted the religion, and I planted the desire for higher education in our children's mind. In retrospect, had I known this religion better 15 years ago, I would have never allowed the indoctrination.
These are different times. Information for you and your girlfriend is available everywhere. Use it. It will help make better decisions and plan your future better.
The main thing is that you research all you can about this religion and how it can affect your long term relationship with your girlfriend. If I can summarize it in few words, then: BE VERY CAUTIOUS

Three graphs in connection with the Watch Tower's current financial situation
by slimboyfat ina number of public statements by the governing body indicate that they are experiencing financial difficulty and they have appealed to jws to donate more money.
public information on the financial situation of the watchtower society is limited.
but what does the information they do publish indicate about their situation?

Maybe increased medical costs etc
I think you are onto something. Apostates, pedophile cases, and medical costs may be Watchtower's biggest problems. Paying attention to inflation by sector, medical cost has by far increased faster than anything else.
